Mahjong 101: Recline, Relax, and Learn to Say Bird Bam, Cheers! Ever wanted to learn the game everyone's suddenly obsessed with, but didn't want to do it on a folding chair in a church basement? Good news. We're teaching Mahjong 101 at La-Z-Boy, where the only thing more comfortable than the seating is how quickly you'll catch on. In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn what all those beautiful tiles mean, how to build a winning hand, and why grown adults get so excited about a bamboo bird. No experience needed. If you can tell a flower from a dragon, you're already ahead of the curve. If you can't, that's exactly why you're coming. Here's what to expect: friendly teachers, a relaxed pace, plenty of laughs, and zero judgment when you accidentally discard the tile you needed. (Everyone does it. It's basically a rite of passage.) A few ground rules: Yes, you can test the recliners between hands. No, you cannot take one home unless you actually buy it. And please don't fall asleep mid-game. We know it's tempting. The furniture is working against us. Bring a friend, bring your competitive streak, and get ready to find your new favorite hobby. Spots are limited because, unlike a sectional, our tables only seat four. Come for mahjong, stay because you physically cannot get up out of that chair.
